The first day with the “new” boat

    Just wanted to share……

I decided the kids and I would enjoy more time together fishing and so…I bought a little boat. It is very used and a friend had it! So…our first 24 hours with the boat was eventful! 1) Got stoopped taking it home by a deputy. 2) Got stuck in the sand and towed out (the truck pulling the boat). 3) The boat sunk! 4) Bailed the boat 5) the boat is now sulking and won’t start (the lawnmower is also trying this strategy today) . 6) the boat is enjoying suitting on the beach waiting to be dragged back home……

The best laid plans of mice and men often come up short of the expected amount of cheese……………..

Happy Father’s Day to all and to all a good night!

Do we pray for one another?

Pray for one another! I hope you do! Pray for the health of those you love (and those you don’t….) Pray for the health of the friend who is going through treatment for cancer and the friend with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s). Pray for your favorite aunt as she ages…for safety and comfort. Pray for the little country church where the kid’s are fighting to be pure and the neighborhood is changing (and they are happy about it). Pray for the single mom in the transition program, who will soon make a home for her children and …despite the odds and the past….might make it this time. Pray for the recently divorced dad who did everything right and was cast aside by a headstrong wife. Pray for the mission of two Christian ladies who want to make a difference by matchmaking Christian singles. Pray for the man whose daughter died in another country and he can’t even go to the funeral. Pray for the oil spill and the many who are worried and disrupted by it. Pray for our president and our government, that they might seek the favor of GOD! Pray for your minister as he preaches his heart out trying to get us out of the pew and into life! Pray for our marriage and children and every family you know! Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray and thank GOD you are not hungry. Pray and tell HIM how awesome and beautiful HE is and how everything good in your life comes from HIM! Pray!

Are you a sheep or goat?

The 3 parables in Matthew 25 were probably the last 3 parables Jesus taught. and they were taught to DISCIPLES!  Amazing! When Jesus was talking about the dividing of sheep and goats, he was talking about those already in the kingdom! Believers!

HE tells us to “be prepared” in the 10 virgins!

HE tells us to use “our gifts”  in the talents!

And HE tells how to be a goat or sheep! Do you feed the hungry? Do you clothe the naked? Do you visit the sick…the imprisoned…the hurting…the disenfranshised? YES or NO….YES= a sheep…NO= a goat….simple isn’t it?

Let me tell you about some sheep I hung out with today. We had our Angel Food worker/volunteer appreciation breakfast today. Lots of sheep there! Including one lady, who had to be asked to go home twice because other (young adult) sheep wanted to do yardwork for her! A bunch of sheep so intent on doing what is right that both tasks were taken care of very well!

Are you a sheep? Lessons offered! Just ask!
